New Research Video Viewers Have Short Attention Span

<< video marketing  2009 Market Trend And The Impact On Advertising Video >>

New research from Tubemogul shows “Most videos steadily lose viewers once “play” is clicked, with an average 10.39% of viewers clicking away after ten seconds and 53.56% leaving after one minute.”

What does this mean to you when using advertising videos? First your call to action, brand or message should be delivered to the audience within the first 10 seconds and no longer than 60 seconds in to the advertising video. We used to tell video marketers to have their call to action and web site url at the end of the video. This new research from Tubemogul has shown what we probably new already.

Secondly and most important, you need to have the right presentation tools when making an advertising video to make your videos captivating. For example while you’re learning how to make videos take the time to learn proper framing of the camera. This is important for psychological reasons.

Set the camera so that you take up the majority of the frame. If you are too far away this is an inferior position. Showing you up close is a position of power and authority.

Thanks again to Tubemogul for taking the time to publish this important message.
